Kishimoto confirmed in a recent interview that he only writes the general outline when it comes to Boruto plot. Ikemoto fills in a ton of the details for example he writes the dialogue between characters.

This is not a Character's Analysis, this is a Naruto's Analysis. Because most of narrative points of Naruto coverge into Sasuke.

I never before thought about luffy having to fight shanks. But it truly is the only thing that makes sense. The only way to end One Piece.

The problem I noticed when regarding naruto's theme, Is that it looks like the theme changes when it gets to shippuden. That is why people are never truly right about the theme because the theme changes around half-way through the series. The theme everybody uses only applies to NARUTO and not SHIPPUDEN. That is why some people just don't like shippuden, it ends up proving the theme set back in NARUTO wrong. SHIPPUDEN has a different theme then NARUTO does, but nobody knows about it or realizes the theme changed.

I watch and read all the big 3 anime/manga. Out of these 3, naruto is my absolute fav follow by bleach and then one piece. But in term of rescue arc, me personally think that enies lobby is the best. If enies lobby a 10, then sasuke retrieval arc is 9 and soul society arc is 8.5.

He then goes on to say he wanted more "nuance" from specific characters. When the nuance he's asking for debunks his arguments and criticisms he falls back on it being "headcanon" because it wasn't explicitly stated, and to quantify his takes on what he believes the series is trying to propagate, he's able to understand nuance and subtext but by twisting elements of the story to suit his criticism.

I think it is very important to include Naruto becoming a "perfect jinchuriki", as him forgiving himself is in a way his final opponent, before becoming enlightened in the war arc.

I watched the majority of the debate and I can tell that we have very similar mindsets/outlooks. I guessed what arguments you were making within a few words and we had very similar counterarguments for many things he said. I also strongly agree with your perspective that viewing things from a positive/open-minded lens is better. That's something I've been making an active effort to do lately, and it has really improved many aspects of life. Also the definition of nationalism that you thought of probably better describes patriotism. Overall, it was pretty fun for me and gave me a better understanding of how to argue against some common criticisms of the series. I think a lot of people just can't understand things without them being spelled out (and some can't even if it is).

Crazy how hard you had to press him to just mention an anime that he likes.. carrying a ton of insecurities. If Kishimoto only wanted to convey the the story through text-bubbles, he'd written a book instead. Everyone has subjective interpretations, but not all interpretations are equal. The dude made a video a month ago where he had just finished reading the "search for Tsunade arc" for the first time.. There's no way he's had the time to sit down and ponder the story and characters
